Doris Ruth Tedford, 69, of Derry, New Hampshire, passed away on June 24, 2020.
Doris was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on December 15, 1950, to the late Vincent and Doris Sherlock. She graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School in 1968. She continued her education at Saint Mary's School of Nursing and earned a Practical Nursing License. Most of her career was dedicated to serving patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Helping others was her calling and she dedicated her life to it.
Doris and Lance were together for 25 years and finally tied the knot in 2016. Their favorite thing to do together was to go to Provincetown, MA at least once per year in the offseason. They always stayed at their favorite beach house which had an ocean view on all sides. They loved taking walks and chatting with regulars.
Doris is survived by her husband Lance; sister Janice Barger; nephew Christopher Peach and his wife Kimberly and their children Joseph, Michael and Andrea; Lance's daughter Kelly Tedford & Susan Shoukimas and her husband Craig; three grandsons Jonathan Tedford, Jordan LaFrance & Bode Shoukimas and her beloved dog Rosie.
Doris is preceded in death by her sister Penelope Ann Sherlock.
Services will be private. Donations can be made to the Provincetown Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Ave, Provincetown MA in support of the Right Whales.
