Doris “Dot” Wieczhalek

Doris Annette (Goyette) Wieczhalek, 84, of Merrimack, NH passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of March 9, 2024. Born on May 29, 1939, in Lowell, MA, Dot was known to her loved ones as Mom, Memérè, Auntie and “Oobie” to her beloved husband.

Doris and Charles (Dot and Charlie) were married on May 25, 1957 and enjoyed 52 years together before his passing in 2009.  They enjoyed socializing with friends and family and the occasional trip to Foxwoods in Connecticut.  In her latter years Doris resided with her daughter in a cozy apartment of her own she called her hobbit hole where she lived for 8 years.

Doris is survived by her daughters Lorrie Russell (Toby Russell) and Diane Wieczhalek-Seiler (Matthew Seiler). She was also a cherished grandmother to Nicholas Russell, Adam Russell (Jessica Wheeler Russell), James Russell, Heidi Sawyer (Steve Sawyer), Holly Haymann (Bryan Taylor), nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and cousins. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Wieczhalek, her brother Robert Goyette, and her parents Lucien Goyette and Jeanette Gonyea.  

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Doris's life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street, Boscawen, NH 03303, at 12:30 pm. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH at 2:00 pm where Charles’s Urn will be interred with military honors, and hers next to him, “Dancing Together Forever”.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
