Dorothy M. Beaton, 85, died July 29 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after an extended illness. Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of Patrick and Abby (Callahan) Corcoran. Mrs. Beaton attended Lynn schools and worked in various Lynn industries until her retirement to Ashland, NH. While living in Ashland, she was an active member of the Ashland Womens Club and the 50-Plus Club. She also took particular pleasure in lending her voice to church choirs of several denominations and in participating in seasonal symphonic choruses as well. In recent years, she resided with her daughter in Manchester. Mrs. Beaton is survived by two sons. William Beaton, Jr. of Meredith and James Beaton of Concord, MA; one daughter, Patricia Beaton of Manchester; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. In Her Life: Mrs. Beaton was the widow of William V. Beaton, Sr., a 20-year employee of the Lynn Department of Public Works, and, later, a member of the Ashland Planning Board. She enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, Andrew Beaton of Los Angeles, CA; Emily Beaton of Concord, MA; and Kevin Beaton of Merrimack, NH; and her great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Beaton of Merrimack. She also loved her two daughter-in-laws, Cheryl Beaton and Carmen Beaton. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 9, at 11 a.m. at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. Family and friends are invited to attend. She will also be remembered at the 5:45 mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Ashland on Saturday, August 7.
