Dorothy Lord Hopkins

Dorothy Lord Hopkins, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at The Hunt Community in Nashua, NH. She was born on April 28, 1928, in Bridgton, ME, the daughter of the late George E. and Louise (Quincy) Lord.

Dorothy was a graduate of Orono Maine High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and became a teacher. Throughout her many years of teaching, Dorothy worked at schools in both Maine and Connecticut. Dorothy was an active participant in the First Baptist Church of Hudson, the Matthew Charter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ladies Auxiliary Hudson VFW Post 5791. She loved traveling with her husband.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar E. Lord and a sister-in-law Jeanette Hopkins.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Alton “Al” Hopkins of Nashua and their son’s Donald L. Hopkins and his wife Cathy of S. Portland, ME, Mark S. Hopkins of Newington, CT and Scott A. Hopkins of Alpharetta, GA. Dorothy also leaves behind one grandchild and several nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Dorothy will be interred at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the First Baptist Church in Hudson, NH at the convenience of the family.
