Dorothy Elaine Whitney-Hall

Dorothy E. Whitney-Hall, 88, of Bedford NH, passed away on July 9th in Manchester NH after a brief illness. Dorothy grew up in Penacook NH, and after marriage lived for many years in Milford, NH, where she raised seven children, all of whom went through the Milford schools. She loved to sing and was very active in church choirs, loved to watch her family play sports of all types, enjoyed card games, cookouts, and pot-luck suppers with friends, and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was extremely patriotic and supportive of our troops, and loved her country. She later retired in Goffstown NH, where she loved to participate in activities with other retirees. She was predeceased by husband Robert J. Whitney, son Sheldon M. Whitney, and husband Frank E. Hall, and leaves behind 5 sons and one daughter, along with their families and many family friends who still call her Mom.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Alzheimer's Association, 5 Bedford Farms Road, Suite #201, Bedford, NH 03110, or alz.org.
On Monday, July 14, 2014, there will be a gathering to celebrate her life from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. A memorial service will begin at 11:30am with interment at New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH immediately following at 1:30pm.
