Douglas Lee Bordeau Sr.

Douglas Lee Bordeau, Sr. was born on September 8, 1942, to Dorothy and Joseph Bordeau in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Doug passed away quietly at home in Newport, NH on April 14, 2024. Doug leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Carol Margaret Blanchard and their 3 children: Douglas Lee Bordeau Jr. and wife Brandi, Carrie Leigh Stanley and husband Christopher, and Sherry Leigh Goodine and husband Jonathan.

9 grandchildren – Amanda Milone, Antonio Milone, Bethany Foster, Kathryn Bordeau, Damien Wright, Sullivan Goodine, Samuel Goodine, Cassidy Stanley, Aria Goodine. 3 Great grandchildren: Daniele Rodriguez, Alexandria Leoutsakos, Jackson Leoutsakos.

Doug was a proud veteran of the Army and spent his service time in Verona, Italy. During his time in Italy his division USASETAF was awarded the Italian Silver Medallion for Civil Valor for the relief and rescue operations that they provided during the Vajont Dam disaster in June 1964.

Doug and his wife lived and enjoyed 43 years in Hartland, Vermont. As part of the Hartland community, Doug was a Boy Scout leader for 9 years and was also a volunteer fire fighter.

Doug’s ashes will be buried at the Hartland Village Cemetery.
