Douglas P. McGandy, 74, died Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008, at Elliott Hospital. He formerly resided in Hudson, Nashua and Milford, NH. Born in Minneapolis, MN, November 3, 1934, the son of the late Dr. Robert F. & Lela McGandy. He graduated from The Blake School, Harvard, and received his M.B.A from Cornell. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was formerly employed at Hawaiian Telephone, University of Hawaii, Mobil Oil Corporation, Honeywell, and worked for 15 years at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved animals, especially dogs. His other interests were traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. Mr. McGandy is survived by two sons, Col. Michael McGandy and his wife, Melanie of Manchester, and Peter McGandy of Washington; two daughters, Michelle McGandy of South Carolina, and Heather Bosley and her husband Bob of Merrimack; six grandchildren, Patrick Wallin and his wife, Maggie, Sean Wallin, Brent Bosley, Brian Bosley, Kasey McGandy, and Alexander McGandy; one sister Marilyn Ryerse and her husband Bill of Edina, MN; he was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Robert B. McGandy.
