Douglas M. Standbridge, 86, of 24 Park Street, Milford, NH, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH, after a short illness. Mr. Standbridge was born on January 1, 1917, in Newton, MA, son of the late George and Alice (Bottomley) Standbridge. He was a resident of Milford, NH, for the past 2 years and had lived in Mason, NH, for many years. He was married to Janice (Hessler) Standbridge on September 8, 1947. Mr. Standbridge was a cameraman and lighting engineer for WBZ TV, Boston, for over 35 years. He had served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. Standbridge enjoyed classical music, electronics, and traveling. Besides his wife, survivors include; a daughter, Pamela Standbridge of Milford, NH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Angela Standbridge of Milford, NH, and Geoff and Janet (Lea) Standbridge of Hudson, NH; four grandchildren, Brianne Crook of New Bedford, MA, Ashley, Alison, and Douglas Standbridge of Milford, NH; a sister, Nancy Thomas, of N. Andover, MA; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Reception will be held on Monday, July 14th from 12:30 to 1:30 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire.
