Earl J. Hardy

Earl J. Hardy, 76, died Oct. 7, 2008, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home. He was born in New Bedford, Mass., Jan. 17, 1932, to Howard and Ruth (Dixon) Hardy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with 22 years of service. He enjoyed Country Western music and thouroughbred racing. Family members include his wife off 55 years, Helen Hardy of Manchester; two sons, Stephen Hardy of Dunbarton, and Wayne Hardy of Allenstown; three daughters, Kathleen of Port Richey, Fla., Maureen of Pembroke, and Karen of Manchester; six grandchildren; two stepdaughters; one grandchild; and three stepgrandchildren. SERVICES: There are no calling hours or service. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of his son, Stephen Hardy, at 201 Stark Highway South, Dunbarton.
