Edgar J. Lake, 94, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Sentry Hill Home in York, Maine. He was the loving husband of Maxine A. Lake of 72 years, who is also a resident of Sentry Hill Home. He was a licensed electrician and owned businesses in Longmeadow, Mass. and Sunapee, N.H. He also served as an Auxiliary Police and Fire Dept member in both communities. He was also active in Lions International, serving as President many times in local Lions clubs, was a member of the Springfield, Mass Rotary Club. He was also the oldest living Past Master of Longmeadow Lodge A.F. and A.M. and a past member of the Springfield, Mass Melha Temple Shrine. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, N.H. Guide, Licensed private pilot, Power Squadron member, and for several years navigated private boats from New London, Conn. thru the Inland Waterway to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Survivors include a sister, Ella Mae Van Der Haegen, niece Christina Frisbee both of Ridgecrest, California, nephew Leonard Lake of California. Two sons, Kenneth of Natick, Mass, and Keith and his fiancé Patricia Staples of South Berwick, Maine. He also is survived by eight grandchildren, Deanne McDonald, Christina Wright, Sharon Lake-Post, Caron Virgin, Brian Lake, Kevin Lake, Kenan Lake, Lynn Staples, and eleven great-grandchildren. Private services were conducted by the family.
