Edmund James Mortlock

Edmund James Mortlock, 80, of Nashua, NH died May 4, 2005 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Mr. Mortlock was born July 2, 1924, in Dennis, MA, son of the late James and Nora (Conroy) Mortlock. He was a lifelong resident of Nashua. He was the loving husband of Mabel Mortlock, to whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Mr. Mortlock retired in 1988 from Sanders Associates after 27 years of employment. Prior employment included 11 years at Ingersoll Rand. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1943 until 1948. He also served overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua. A stepson Paul Boucher and a sister-in-law Lillian Brunelle predeceased him. He was an active member of the St. Joseph Hospital Stroke Support Group. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was known to many as “Pop.” Ed was an avid bowler and was a past President of the Nashua Office Bowling League for more than 20 years. He took up the sport of golf after he retired and enjoyed being a ‘duffer’. He was a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox and the N.E. Patriots. Vacations at the Maine beaches with family were the highlight of every summer. His loving spirit will always be a part of his wife, Mabel. He was a kind, dedicated, and patient husband, father, and grandfather. He was always thought of as being the ‘best of the best’ to his friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Besides his wife, survivors include four daughters, Silvia Marshall, Lynda Durmer, Alice Boucher, and Luann Keddy, their husbands and their children; four stepsons and their families, John Boucher, Thomas Boucher, Matthew Boucher, and Daniel Boucher. His brothers-in-law and their wives, Charles & Barbara Pelletier, David & Mary Anne Jordan, and David & Ruby Brunelle, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. There will be a private family memorial service. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a ‘Celebration of his Life’ on Monday, May 16th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Crown Plaza in Nashua, NH.
