Edward J. Buckley, 72, of Nottingham, NH, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on August 18, 2020 with his loving family by his side.
Born on April 6, 1948 in Stoneham, MA, he was the son of the late John J. Buckley, Sr. and Eleanor M. Buckley. He was affectionately known as "Buck" or "Ted" by friends and family. Raised and educated in Malden, MA, Buck was a graduate of Malden High School and UMASS Amherst, where he earned a BS degree in Microbiology. Edward made his career as a computer analyst.
A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Buck cherished time spent with his family and many dear friends. An active member of his community, Buck was always willing to help others in need. He volunteered his time and talents for a number of organizations including the PTA, NYA, Recreation Commission, and the Boys Scouts of America. Buck took great pride in his home, designing and building his home, "The Shire", in Nottingham. Buck and his wife, Suzanne, called the Shire their home for nearly 33 years. An avid outdoorsman, Buck enjoyed caring for the forest around his home. In the fall and winter, Buck loved to watch the New England Patriots and he loved to travel. He will be best remembered for his generous heart and dedication to family. Buck will be deeply missed by many friends including his poker buddies, the "gang" in Florida, former and current neighbors and former colleagues.
Buck is survived by his wife, Suzanne, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage; daughter, Michelle R. Cronin of Deerfield, NH; son, Sean C. Buckley of Nottingham, NH; brother, Richard Buckley of Brunswick, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Buck was predeceased by his brother, John J.
