Chandler, Edward E. of Raymond, NH died July 30, 2007 at Epsom Manor, Epsom, NH. Ed was born on March 1, 1917 in Concord, NH, son of the late George Adams Chandler and Beulah Mayhew Chandler. In his youth Ed was a Boy Scout and later proudly served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1937-1938. Ed honorably served his country in the Army from 1940-1945, where he was stationed at Schofield Airbase; he was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was also stationed at Guadalcanal, the Northern Solomons, and Southern Philippines Luzon and served in the Air Force until 1949 while working various intelligence units in the South Pacific. Among other medals, Ed received the Bronze Star for exemplary conduct in ground combat against the armed enemy in the pacific theatre of operations. After living in California, Colorado, and Arizona, Ed returned east in 1987 to live out the rest of his life. He is survived by a half grandniece, Nancy Benoit Willis of Eliot, ME and by half grandnephews, Skip Ordway, of Pleasant Hill, CA and Douglas Benoit of Nashua, NH. A memorial gathering will be held at Walnut Hill in Raymond, NH on August 25, 2007 at 1:00 pm.
