Edward A. MacPherson

Edward A. Macpherson, 68, died peacefully on Thursday March 28th, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was surrounded by loving family and friends.

Raised in Peabody, MA, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Mary (Mendonca) Macpherson. He attended and graduated from the Peabody public schools.

Eddie worked for several trucking companies, until he moved to New Hampshire. In 2000 he became employed with the Portsmouth School System until 2021 when he semi-retired. Because Eddie loved his school family, and all the children, he remained involved with the school until his passing.

Eddie spent the last 6 years alongside his loving companion, Denise, as well as their dog, Rudolph, and her horse, Evelyn. They would spend many afternoons feeding the birds at Rye Harbor.

Eddie’s favorite pastime was wheelin’ and dealin’ used cars, lawn mowers, and snowblowers (and whatever else he could get his hands on). He enjoyed going to car shows, speedways, and flea markets. He loved his community and enjoyed helping those who were less fortunate. He lived his life at 100 miles an hour and was fondly known as “Fast Eddie” by all who loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa, and her husband Daniel Romanovitz; 5 grandchildren, Chloe, Luci, Charlotte Wogan, Alyssa and Daniel Romanovitz Jr.; he was predeceased by grandson Zachary Wogan. He also leaves his brothers and sisters, Richard and his wife Marie Macpherson of Peabody, David and his wife Pamela Macpherson of Malden, Janice De’Merchant of Peabody predeceased by her husband Gary De’Merchant, Kathleen and her husband William Madden of Peabody, Cheryl A. Woods of Peabody predeceased by her husband Stephen A. Woods of Peabody, Patricia and her husband Tom Blake of Peabody, and he was predeceased by brother Donald A. Macpherson Jr.; 3 generations of loving nieces and nephews; and many friends around the North Shore and seacoast of New Hampshire.
