Edward James Marpes

Edward J. Marpes, 81, of 175 Chestnut Street, Manchester died on Sunday, March 18, 2001 at the VA Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Marpes was born on September 29, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Samuel and Rose (Eassie) Marpes. He was a U S Air Force Veteran who served during World War II. Family members include; two sons Samuel Mooney of Lawrenceville, GA and Stephen Marpes of Taylors, SC; one daughter, Carrie Blue of Toms Rivers, NJ; four grandchildren; one sister, Jeannie Scarpino of Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Hanneman. A Memorial Reception will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2001 from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Chapel, an affiliate of Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Boscawen State Veterans Cemetery.
