Edward A. Martin, 76 of Manchester, New Hampshire died peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford, New Hampshire after a brief illness.
He was born on June 4, 1944 in Quincy, MA. The son of late Alfred and Margaret (Vallier) Martin. He attended Natick High School, played high school football and graduated in 1962.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy and served 4 years directly out of high school.
Ed worked in the sales industry, food industry and retired as a driver for Amoskeag Airport Service. He was very personable and enjoyed getting to know people.
Ed was very athletic and loved all sports. He enjoyed going to the gym and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going on adventures into the White Mountains and into Boston to catch a Red Sox game. Ed loved to cook, everything from burgers on the grill to Sunday morning family breakfast.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Martin and his wife, Angela of North Haven, Maine. Grandchildren Christian Martin and Austin Martin of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Lily Martin of North Haven, Maine, Sisters, Virginia Allen of Pacific Grove, CA, and Patricia Martin of Rio Vista, CA Brothers Al Martin and his wife, Patti of San Ramone, CA and Jim Martin and his wife Kathleen of Barrington, NH, several nieces and nephews, and his very special friend, Kathryn Payeur and her son, Vance who referred to Ed as Papa, of Londonderry, NH. Also, Ed's cat of 15 years, Meisha.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020, 2:00 PM, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, in Boscawen, NH.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.
