Edward Garrett McGurr

Mr. Edward G. McGurr, 83, of Concord, NH died September 14, 2008 at the Concord Hospital in Concord following a period of declining health. He was born on June 15, 1925 in Boston, MA the son of the late Edward and Helen (Gayer) McGurr. He was raised and educated in Boston. Ed graduated from Boston High School. He was a resident of the Boston and Quincy area for most of his life. He moved to Concord in 1971. Ed, as his family and friends knew him, worked as a salesman for Cushman Bakery in Boston for 27 years. Later he worked in housekeeping in the X-ray department at Concord Hospital. Ed enjoyed roller skating and dancing on his skates. He was a well known vocalist in Boston with a female dance band. Ed is survived by his nephew, Tom Walsh of Rockport, MA and niece, Judith McCoy of St. Augustine, FL. He was predeceased by his wife Marion (Bacheller) McGurr who died in 1978. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at Millville Cemetery, Hopkinton Rd, Concord at 11:00AM.
