Edward Charles "Eddie" Prest

Edward Charles “Eddie” Prest, 72, of Manchester, NH, passed away on May 5, 2023 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 26, 1951, he was a son of the late Elmer and Ruth (Smith) Prest. He shared 47 years of marriage with his wife, Marie (McMillan) Prest.

Eddie was raised and educated in Alton Bay, NH. He served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for flying and pursued his dream of becoming a pilot, later purchasing his own plane and spending countless hours soaring through the skies. When he wasn’t in the air, he could be found enjoying long days on the water in his boat. Eddie had a calming presence that put others at ease and was known for his unwavering determination and his refusal to give up, even in the face of adversity.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Marie Prest of Manchester, NH; his daughter, Shana Chauvin and her husband Justin of Bedford, NH; his brothers, Andre Prest of Idaho, Leslie and Jeffrey Prest of San Diego, CA; Cheryl Marble and her family; his three favorite Boston Terriers, Benny, Sonny and Mia; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Alan, Gregory, Brian and Robert Prest.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, May 15^th from 5-7PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 16^th at 11AM. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
