Edward Johannes Rosholt, Jr., 85, died peacefully at home at Wentworth Senior
Living, Portsmouth, NH on June 4, 2018 surrounded by family. Eddie was born August
4, 1932 in Teaneck Township, NJ. to Edward Johannes Rosholt, Sr. and Margaret
Zitkovitz Rosholt. He has one sister, Lorraine Parhiala of Salem, NH. Eddie grew up in
Tilton, NH and enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country during the Korean War.
After the Navy he attended Northeastern University studying electrical engineering.
Ed married Florence Anne Menard in 1953 and they had 5 children together.
Ed began his career at Simplex Wire and Cable Company before forming his own business, Rosholt Electric, which served the needs of many small businesses throughout the seacoast. He married Martha Gail Flechtner in 1969, creating an instant family of 7 children. A few years later the eighth child was born, creating their own version of the "Brady bunch", as they would say.
In 1975, Ed continued his career as a Submarine Electrician and test engineer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 21 years.
Ed was an active parishioner at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, singing in the
choir, running the sound system and serving on the property committee. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many. Ed fulfilled his love of boating, fishing and
lobstering, living on Little Bay for 45 years.
He is survived by his children, Theresa Bianchi and her husband, Stephen of
Manchester, NH; Michael Rosholt and his wife, Valaurie S. Sreysros of Lowell, MA;
Catherine Kling and her husband, Jon formerly of Manassas, VA; Christina Waterman
and her husband, John of Somersworth, NH; Mark Rosholt and his wife, Robin of Massillon,OH; Kevin Rosholt and his wife Heather, of North Berwick, ME; and Jennifer Salmon and her husband, Jeff of Clifton Park, NY. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Martha Gail Rosholt and a son, Daniel Edward Rosholt.
A memorial service and celebration of Ed's life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 22 Fox Run Road, Newington, NH 03801. A light meal will follow. Contact the church 603-436-1704 with any inquiries.
