Edward Anthony Walsh Jr.

Edward A. Walsh, Jr., known to many as "Ted," passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. He was born on March 9, 1937, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the son of Edward and Anna Walsh.

Ted was the beloved husband of Jean (Langlois) Walsh. They were married on March 7, 1960, in Lynn, Massachusetts.

He graduated from Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers, MA, and went on to enlist in the United States Navy, serving from April 1956 through July 1962. He also served in the Naval Reserves with the 1st Naval District in Boston, MA.

Ted worked for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) for over 25 years, retiring in 1988. Upon retirement, he and Jean purchased an RV and began a life full of travel, exploring the continental United States and Alaska. Their adventures also took them abroad to England and Spain. They celebrated their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in Hawaii, creating lasting memories.

In the early 1990s, they purchased a lot in a co-op in Benson, Arizona, where they spent their winters and developed lifelong friendships with fellow travelers. Summers were spent at Emerson Village Campground in Hampstead, NH. In 2016, they made Emerson Village their permanent residence, becoming an integral part of the community and cherishing the many friendships they made there.

Ted’s favorite hobbies included snowmobiling—often taking trips to Jackman, Maine, with close friends—and golfing. He played regularly with a core group of friends from Rowley, MA, including annual golf trips to Vermont. While in Arizona, he golfed daily at a local course where he was a proud member. Ted was also an avid reader until he experienced vision loss later in life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Jean, and their three children: Paul Walsh and his wife Andrea of Plaistow, NH; Kathy Emro and her husband Wayne of Middleton, MA; and Edward Walsh III of Hampstead, NH. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Jackalyn Nazzaro, Holly Emro, Matthew Walsh, and Jessica Walsh; and great-grandchildren: Richard and Robert Nazzaro.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
