Edwin Anthony Hadrych, resident of Hudson, New Hampshire since 1967, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family members on the morning of April 15, 2014.
Mr. Hadrych was born on March 17th 1931 on the family farm in Hamburg, New York. He and his four brothers and two sisters all worked the farm as youngsters with their parents. After graduation from Hamburg High School in 1948, Mr. Hadrych joined the Air Force and completed his training at Sampson Field in Buffalo, New York. He served his country during the Korean War and was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base, at the Manzano installation in New Mexico. He worked closely with the scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratories. His active duty service spanned from 1952 to 1956, after which time he transitioned to the civilian sector and started his own family.
Mr. Hadrych married Ms. Rosemary Mosso, and together they had three children: Evangeline, Timothy (Timmy), and Eric. Even after the marriage dissolved and he relocated to Nashua, New Hampshire to begin work at Sanders Associates (now known as Lockheed Martin), Mr. Hadrych maintained an extremely close and affectionate relationship with his children. While employed at Sanders, he met and then married Ms. Charlotte Napsey.
After a long and successful career as an engineer and team leader, Mr. Hadrych retired from Lockheed Martin with 38 years of service. He retired to his home in Hudson, New Hampshire with his wife Charlotte. His retirement activities included hobbies such as fixing cars, bird watching, adopting homeless cats, gardening, drawing, painting, remodeling his home, and most importantly, spending precious time with family. He was also an active member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church of Nashua, New Hampshire. Mr. Hadrych enjoyed discussing politics and current events with family and friends and teaching his grandchildren a range of fun activities, from how to work on cars to the best ways to plant a vegetable garden.
Edwin is deeply loved and missed by an expansive family stretching from coast to coast. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his daughter Evangeline, and his sons Tim and Eric. He has five grandchildren: Brandi Jo, Justin, Geoff, Blaise, and Issac. He has one great-grandchild, Evan Alexander. He is also survived by his older brother Joseph, his sisters Molly (Sister Anne Marya Vincent) and Helen (Sister Stephen), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were all very involved in his life. He was met in Heaven by his parents Vincent and Anna, his brothers Michael John, Aloysious (Al), Stephen Vincent, Benedict, his sister Stella, and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose. Edwin was extremely close to his sister-in-law Noureen and her husband Dick, and brothers-in-law Douglas and Ronnie.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (www.specialops.org), the Air Commando Association (aircommando.org), or the New Hampshire Humane Society (www.nhhumane.org).
