Edwin Rudd

Edwin A. Rudd, PhD.,70, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, with his beloved wife Kathie by his side, after a brief battle with bile duct cancer.

Ed was born in New Richmond, Wisconsin, to Lester and Lois Rudd. He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1968 and entered the Army. After he served his country, Ed and his brother Bob, spent the summer touring Europe. Ed then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

After graduation, he was united in marriage to Kathie Tetzlaff of River Falls, and they moved to Vermont, where Ed earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont. Ed and Kathie have been residents of Salem, New Hampshire, since 1984. Ed worked at various bio-tech companies in Boston and New Hampshire, lastly at Covaris in Woburn, MA, from which he retired.

In retirement, Ed continued to enjoy skiing, working in his yard, gardening, and traveling with his wife Kathie.

Ed is survived by his wife, Kathie, brothers Robert (Jan), Gene (Jean) and Jerry (Im), and sister Bonnie Muhl (Gary), 9 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lois Rudd, brother David Rudd, and nephews, James Rudd and John Rudd.

Services will be held in Wisconsin at a later date at the convenience of the family.
