Elaine J. Lafond

Elaine J. Lafond (Genereux), 80, of Manchester, NH, passed away on October 7, 2022 after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Elaine was born on November 18,1941 to Emile and Helen Genereux (Gamble) in Springfield, MA. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA.

In 1958, she met Robert E. Lafond and they wed on June 23, 1962, going on to have four children, Lisa, Robert Jr, Richard, and Linda.

Elaine retired in 2007 after working for the Town of Londonderry, NH for 23 years.  She then spent time working in the rectory at St. Jude Parish in Londonderry, NH where she was also a parishioner and member of the Women's Guild.  She spent as much time as possible spoiling her 6 grandchildren. 

Elaine is predeceased by her parents, Emile and Helen Genereux and her brother, Robert Genereux.  She is also predeceased by her son-in-law, Richard Reed.  Elaine is survived by her husband, Robert Lafond Sr.; her four children, Lisa Reed (Lafond), Robert Lafond Jr. and his wife Rachel, Richard Lafond and his wife Lisa, Linda Beaver (Lafond) and her husband Matthew; and her six grandchildren: Emily Reed, Christian Reed, James Lafond, Mary Elaine Beaver, Grace Andrews, and Liam Andrews.

A Mass will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Jude Parish, 455 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053. A gathering will follow in the parish hall. Private burial will take place at the NH Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester NH.
