Elaine G. Lamarche, 85, passed away on October 16, 2024, at her home in Candia, N.H., surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 04, 1939 in Manchester, N.H., daughter of William Dobe and Delvina (Lavertue) Dobe.
Elaine grew up in Manchester, N.H. She was one of three children. After high school she married Raymond S. Lamarche and had four children. Raymond W. Lamarche, Linda D. Lamarche, Joseph R. Lamarche and Laura L. Lamarche. She is survived by her daughter Linda D. Lamarche, her son Joseph R. Lamarche, her daughter Laura L. Lamarche and her fiancé William Vance, two grandsons, Patrick W. Cormier and wife Madelyne (St. John) Cormier, Dylan R. Marshall and his fiancé Kandyce Doucette, and three great-grandchildren, Dawson Marshall, Lindsey Marshall, and Olivia Cormier, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother John T. Dobe, her husband, and infant son.
Elaine spent her life raising her children in Candia, N.H. She obtained her teaching degree at Notre Dame College in Manchester, N.H. She enjoyed teaching at the Moore School and the Epping Elementary School. With her love of books and children, she took great joy in being the Moore School Librarian in Candia. Through the years she also worked at Kollsman Institute and Insight Technology. For many years she enjoyed being a volunteer leader with the Candia 4-H Hobby Horses.
Elaine loved the outdoors! She spent many hours exploring and photographing nature. She dedicated considerable time to her gardens. Everything flourished under her touch. She had a love for all animals. She was an accomplished equestrian and avid turtle and tortoise enthusiast. She retrieved many turtles from the road and rescued unwanted, outgrown, or damaged reptiles to rehab. She always had a pet dog as well as having an open door to any animal in need including chickens, pigs, rabbits, iguanas, the list is endless!
Elaine was a bright spot in this world. She was a great mom, sister, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Gigi). She was such a loving, wonderful and unique person. She will be missed by so many!
