Eleanor Bullock

Eleanor (Strobel) Bullock, a long-time resident of Bedford, passed away May 7, 2017 at the age of 93.

Mrs. Bullock was born June 18, 1923 to Frances (Haseltine) and Eric Strobel. She attended local schools, graduating from Manchester HS West, continuing on to Keene State College from which she graduated in 1944. Mrs. Bullock then taught high school in Goffstown, NH for two years.

She was a past member of the Bedford Women's Club, the Ladies Social Circle of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, the Bedford Garden Club, the Bedford Historical Society, the Elliot Hospital Senior Associates, a long-time election worker and a very active supporter of number of charities; always remaining behind the scenes.

In 1946 she married the love of her life, Robert J. Bullock; with whom she would have celebrated 71 years of marriage on July 29, 2017. The eightieth anniversary of their first date was April 15, 2017. Along with Mr. Bullock, she enjoyed a career in Real Estate and construction that spanned many decades.

Mrs. Bullock started her real estate business career in 1955 when she became one of the first female Real Estate Brokers in the State of NH. In 1958 she founded her own business, The Bullock Agency, and remained as Managing Broker for the following 58 years. Mrs. Bullock considered one of her greatest achievements to be in helping to break the "glass ceiling" so that in the future, women entering the Real Estate profession would find an easier road than she had traveled in those early days.

Mrs. Bullock was predeceased by her loving spouse of 69 years, Robert J. Bullock in 2016. She is survived by their son Ryk-Robert Bullock and a much-loved grandson Todd, both of Bedford, NH.

Always a gentlewoman who never left a doubt as to where she stood on any subject; particularly politics and the honor and integrity which she expected to be within the Real Estate industry. She had accomplished much in her lifetime. She was proud of her family, her country and her community.

In light of the Bullock Family's long association with the Bedford Fire Department, the Bedford Police Department, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department, it is respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The Hundred Club of NH,
Inc., â„… Nancy Keller, PO Box 23, Manchester, NH or alternative to a charity of one's choice.

The family would like to acknowledge the kindnesses of Claudette "Ruthie" Prive, David and Nikki Martineau; all of whom provided her with support in so many ways. It would be remiss not to acknowledge the efforts and actions of David C. Bailey and Paul F. Roy, Sr.

SERVICES: Committal services for both Mr. and Mrs. Bullock will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10am in the Bedford Center Cemetery on the Hilltop in the family plot. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire provided assistance to the family in planning for Mr. And Mrs. Bullock's final rest.
