Eleanor Carleton Perkins LANCASTER, NH.Eleanor Carleton Perkins, 91, of Portland St. died at her home on December 13, 2005 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Edward Perkins Sr., in March of 2000 after 49 years of marriage. Born Eleanor Perry Carleton on January 23, 1914 in Danvers, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of William B. Carleton, Jr. and Emma (Perry) Carleton. Eleanor graduated from Danvers High School in 1931 and received an AA in 1933 from Colby Junior College. She worked at Daniel Lows department store in Boston for several years prior to her marriage. As an Air Force wife and mother of three, she traveled extensively and provided loving homes throughout New England. For the last fifteen years of her life Eleanor was wheelchair bound with Multiple Sclerosis. Even so, being a very resilient woman, she cared for her husband at home for more than ten years while he dealt with Alzheimers Disease. She enjoyed tending her houseplants and was an avid reader. A delightful woman, she was well liked by all those fortunate enough to have met her. She was very appreciative for all of Home Healths support in maintaining her quality of life. She is survived by her daughter Beth Perkins Gates Curtis, and two sons Charles H. and Robert E., Jr., and four grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no service or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eleanors name to Weeks Memorial Library, 128 Main St., Lancaster, NH 03584.
