GREENLAND, NH -- Adams, Elizabeth M. (Betty), 92, of Greenland, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15th, 2021 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Betty was a receptionist at Eastern Toy Company in Pawtucket, RI and one of the first women lifeguards for the State of Rhode Island in 1950's.

Born in Pawtucket, RI to late Woodford R. and Barbara Jones (Leavens).

Betty was the wife of the late William M. Adams for 57 years.

Betty was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, St. John's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth Garden Club, and the Portsmouth YMCA.

Betty had a passion for the outdoors, was an avid gardener, enjoyed early morning swimming at the "Y", bicycling Bayside Road, getting her paper from Suds n' Soda, knitting, loved her Curve's ladies and going on cruises with Bill.

Betty was a resident of Lincoln and Matunuck, Rhode Island for 40 years.

Betty enjoyed frequent vacations in Rhode Island especially dining at Matunuck Oyster Bar.

She is survived by her son, John W. Adams (Peg) of Warwick, RI. Her granddaughters Jennifer L. Collins (Michael) of Raynham, MA and Kristen Adams of Cleveland, OH., her great-grandson Cameron M. Collins, Susan Klockars of Greenland, NH. She was pre-deceased by her son, William K. Adams. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Dunn and George Jones.
