Elizabeth Y. Athearn

Elizabeth Y. Athearn, 86, of 97 Rumford Street in Concord died on May 19, 2002 at Hospice House after a brief bout with cancer. Mrs. Athearn was born on July 27, 1915 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of the late Walter and Ashby (Cayce) Young. She owned and operated Apple Tree Book Shop on Warren Street in Concord for 20 years. Her hobbies included gardening and photography which she thoroughly enjoyed in her spare time. She was the widow of Donald Athearn who died in 1987. Family members include; a son, Peter D. Athearn of Stoddard, NH and a daughter, Joan A. Dawson of Warner, NH. She had three grandchildren, Carol Lagasse of Everson, WA, Walter E. Dawson of Warner, NH and Sherri Hodgdon also of Warner, NH. She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Stuart Humphrey of Andover, NH.
