Elizabeth Crombie Hooksett- Elizabeth (Mae) Walsh Crombie, 92, of Hooksett, died January 29th at the Concord Hospice House following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Manchester on October 29th, 1915, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Sinclair) Murray. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central High School in 1933. Her professional life included positions as a secretary for Paul Rouseau of Dunn and Bradstreet, then as Paul Nouire's private secretary at the law firm of Wiggin and Nourie. Finally, she was a part time secretary for the American Cancer Society. As a life time member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church of Manchester until it closed, she participated in the church's Forthnightly Club; Unity Circle; Blue Ribbon Class and was also a Sunday school teacher. She was a Cub Scout den mother and also the secretary for the Central High School football booster club. She was a life time member, and past chief daughter of the Heather Bell Lodge of the Daughter's of Scotia in Manchester, as well as a member of the Bon Accord Lodge in Massachusetts. Upon moving to Hooksett in the 80's, Mae became a member of the Congregational Church of Hooksett and was active in the Woman's Fellowship and Bible Study Groups. She joined the Hooksettites Senior Group and was recording secretary for many years as well as Chaplain and 2nd V.P. She was an active member of the Hooksettite Entertainers, a group which entertained at nursing homes and other places in the area. She was a member of the Rebecca's Acorn Lodge of Hooksett. The family includes four children: Gail Barker; Scott Walsh and Thomas Crombie all of Hooksett and Donald Crombie of Texas; six grandchildren, Charles Barker of Plymouth, Scott Barker of Hooksett, Jason Walsh of Londonderry, Kimberly Warenda of Manchester and Ian and Amber Crombie of Texas; ten great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. She was a wife of the late Thomas H. Crombie. A Memorial Service will be held at the Congregational Church of Hooksett on Veteran's Drive on February 23rd, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Dave Richardson.
