Elizabeth Forward, surrounded by loved ones at home in Wilton, NH, peacefully slipped out of this world June 30, 2026. Born June 18, 1937, Nashua NH, to Lilla Mae (Moulton) Murphy and August Albert Murphy, of Nashua, NH. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters: Elaine Lyons, Dorothy Merrill, Kitty (Mildred) Dwyer, her husband of 47 years, Herbert Forward, Hudson, NH, four nephews, Steven Dwyer, of Hudson, Steven Lynch, Nashua, NH Robert Lynch, of Lancaster, NH and Walter Knight, of Troy, NH and her grand-niece, Allison Rose Brousseau, Bethlehem NH.
She leaves behind cherished loved ones, beloved sister Kathleen Mae Miller, Lancaster, NH who affectionately called her “Lizzy Tish,” her partner, best friend, and love of her life for thirteen years, Leslie Pasquale Tallarico, Wilton NH, her pride and joy, son Glenn Forward, his wife Charlene, and her beloved grandson Nathan Forward. Charlene, and Glenn, along with special niece, Susan Knapp of Rindge, NH were her caregivers for the last two years of her life. Her family was paramount to her, another special niece, Naomi Hamm of Troy, NH joined in her care in the last few months.
Liz, kind and so generous, her motto in life was “it’s not what you have, it’s what you are willing to give to others, do so and it will bring you joy. Giving was the core of her legacy, she cared for her parents, she cared for her sisters in challenging times, she enriched the lives of their children so deeply, each one of them has a memorable story of how she impacted, or changed their life forever.
Educated in Nashua NH, studying at Graham Junior College, she went on to serve as Office Manager for the United States Department of Agriculture in Milford NH. Serving the farmers was her passion, she cared for them, their livelihood, their animals, most importantly she wanted to preserve and conserve our great state farm lands and forests for conservation. She shared this compassion for conservation with her colleague of 30 years Leslie Tallarico after both of them retired, many years later, they reunited as companions and together they travel to Italy, Hawaii, Snake River cruises and many other excursions. As a couple they deeply supported one another. They made the most of each and every day, sharing good times and supporting each other in challenging times. They brought so much joy to one another, and those they surrounded.
Friends were abundant, her kindred spirit and unequivocal passion for living an enriching life, brought her close to all those she encountered. She held high standards for herself “do unto others as you would have done to you.” One would meet her and go away feeling like they had a new best friend. She gave many hours of service to First Baptist Church of Hudson, an active member of the Joy Fellowship she hosted and contributed, finding so much joy in serving
others with and for others. Glenn learned from his mother, he and his wife and son have served the food pantry at the church for several years. She and Suzie made supply bags each year and provided them to the veterans and the homeless. When Liz was not working towards a cause, she would pause for relaxation. Knitting and especially crocheting, was a favorite hobby even when she lost her eye sight, she continued to do both making throws for the veterans, and blankets for children in the hospital.
The message Liz carried to all and lived by her whole life; do not fear, move forward in your life, God will strengthen you, hold hands with one another. I write this as her niece whom she gave me my name Deborah. I held her hand in the final hours, reminding her of what she taught us all. Be strong, move forward, we will hold you in our hearts forever Liz Forward.
A celebration of her life will be held August 1, 2026 at 10:30am at the First Baptist Church, 236 Central Street, Hudson NH. A private planting will take place at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge NH in September 2026.
In lieu of flowers the family asks if you wish to make a contribution to do so to one of the following; The First Baptist Church Food Panty, 236 Central Street Hudson, NH, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Braille Books for Blind Children (American Action Fund for Blind Children and Adults).
