Liz returned home on August 25, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born in Plainfield, NJ on November 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Louis and Winifred Gammon. During her childhood, Liz moved a number of times residing in Bellows Falls, Vermont as well as Canada before ultimately returning to Plainfield, NJ where she graduated from high school, attended college and married. In 1973, Liz moved with her family from the suburbia of New Jersey to the woods of East Lempster, New Hampshire. While in East Lempster, Liz raised a family, worked at the Goshen/Lempster Co-operative School as a librarian, and was an active member of the community. During this time, Liz also found time to return to college, graduating from Keene State College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She also attended Antioch University New England where she pursued a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. After school, Liz worked for many years as a mental health clinician at the Spurwink School and West Central Community Support Services. She was a champion for the underdog. In addition to her professional career, Liz also spent many years working at the Visitor Center at Eastman in Grantham, New Hampshire. During this time, Liz developed many lasting friendships with Eastman co-workers and colleagues and in 1990, she moved to Eastman so that she could work and live in a place that she enjoyed. In 2005, Liz retired and moved to West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Liz's life was most marked by her feisty, independent nature and engaging wit. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind two daughters and a son: Nancy Moore of California, Debra Chamberlain of Connecticut and Thomas Lohman of Massachusetts. In addition she is survived by her five grandchildren: Faith and Shane Peabody of Nevada and California, and Christopher, Bryce and Chelsea Chamberlain of Connecticut. Liz's life will be celebrated by her family and close friends at one of her favorite places, York Beach, Maine, in September. Her ashes will come to final rest at Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet, New Jersey next to her parents. Burial will be private. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is handling the arrangements.
