Elizabeth Mae Smith

Elizabeth, Betty, Liz; was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who peacefully went home to her mother, Helen; her sister Helen; her brother Irving; and her brother Fredrick, at age 79. 

Born in Boston, Massachusetts with her 6 brothers and sisters whom she cherished; she lived many years in Oldsmar, Florida before eventually settling in Nashua and retiring to Concord, New Hampshire. 

Her favorite things were lighthouses, animals, cardinals, her daily Panera coffee, working, bowling, flea markets, old western shows, singing and dancing, Wayne Newton, wandering through stores, and talking to people; it didn’t matter who you were you had a friend in Elizabeth. Her favorite things were her family and being a mother and grandmother. She never missed a single game, an opportunity to get her favorite ice cream cone, or to have dinner with them. Elizabeth loved the simplicity of life, she loved seeing her loved ones happy. She spent her retirement years playing bingo with friends and volunteering at animal shelters. 

Elizabeth is survived by her sons Tony (his husband James), Russell, and Kevin; her daughter Robyn (her husband Jeff); her grandchildren Hayley, Cameron, and Madison; and her great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother Ernest (Sandy) and his wife Elaine; her sister Barbara (husband James); as well as 3 generations of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is scheduled for July 20, 2024, from 1 pm to 4 pm at 1 Regency Village Way, Merrimac, MA. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in her honor to Mary's Dogs Rescue and Adoption, in Northwood, NH.
