Elizabeth Betty Ward

Elizabeth ''Betty'' Ward, 92, formerly of Portsmouth, NH died on June 6, 2002 at Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH after a brief illness. Mrs. Ward was born on June 27, 1909 in Kittery, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ellen (Grogan) Hennessy. She was a graduate of Gorham Normal School and the University of New Hampshire. She was a teacher for the Portsmouth Public Schools and taught at Pease Air Force Base Elementary School. Mrs. Ward was a former member of the Portsmouth Country Club and The Wentworth Golf Course and was active in the New Hampshire Women's Golf Association. She retired to Deltona, Florida in 1970 where she resided for 25 years. She was the widow of Fred G. Ward who died in 1962. Family members include; a son, Terrance Connors and his wife, Gloria of Keene, NH; a daughter, Ann Myer and her husband Albert of Hampstead, NH; two stepsons, Warren Ward and Fred Ward Jr., both of Portsmouth, NH; a stepdaughter, Shirley Peatfied and her husband Howard of Danbury, CT; a sister, Hope Wilhelm of Debary, Florida; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
