Ernest “Ernie” L. Canney, 75, of Wolfeboro, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer.
Born on May 10, 1947 in Rochester, NH, he is the son of the late Mervale and Marjorie Canney. Raised and educated in Rochester, he attended and graduated from Rochester Public Schools.
An honorably discharged veteran, Ernie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked for many years at Wal-Mart Transportation in Raymond, NH until his retirement.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ernie cherished time spent with family. He loved playing cornhole and fishing at his homes in Wolfeboro and Ft. Myers, Florida.
In addition to his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and Mervale Canney, Jr.; and daughter, Paula Canney of Milton, NH. Ernie is survived by his wife, Terry; son, Ernest “Ernie” Canney, Jr.; daughter, Kam Canney Chang; sister, Marilyn McDougal of Farmington, NH; step-children, Tara, Tim, and Bethie; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
