Ernest Smith

Ernest L. Smith III, 66, of Hooksett, NH passed away on July 3, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts to Avis and Ernest L. Smith II. He was a 4 year honor roll graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH and attended classes for Computer Science at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. He also worked for almost 25 years at Electopac in Manchester, NH.

Ernie loved to read and was an avid writer. He had been published numerous times in The Union Leader's editorial section. He prided himself on being politically informed on both sides of the political spectrum.

Ernie is survived by his daughter, Tonya Smith, and granddaughter Asiah Watson, both of Auburn, NH. They were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers, James A. Smith of Detroit, ME, Wayne P. Smith of Port St. Lucie, Florida and sister, Elaine D. Webster of Auburn NH.

A service will be held in his memory at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 12th at Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish in Derry, NH. A gathering will follow at Marion Gerrish Community Center located at 39 W. Broadway in Derry.
