Erwin E. Corey
Brookline- Erwin E. Corey, 77, of Brookline, NH peacefully passed away Thursday October 10, 2013, at Concord Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brookline, NH, he was the son of the late Harry and Louise (Beaubien) Corey. A dedicated father, Erwin was the pillar of strength and direction for his family. He was a model of integrity, honesty, and patience. After graduating from Nashua High School in 1954, Erwin worked at Tasker Turkey Farm before opening his own automotive service center. He went on to become a member of the Brookline Fire Department from 1958-1991, joined the Board of Fire Engineers 1966-1976, became Brookline's Fire Chief in 1967-1976, became the Forest Fire Warden in 1968-1981 and became a Brookline Selectman in 1976-1979. He was one of the original founders of the Souhegan Mutual Fire Aid Association in 1971.
In this world, Erwin leaves his devoted wife Hazel (Taylor) Corey, his son, Charles Corey and wife Sheryl of Brookline, his daughters, Deborah Corey from Penacook, Irene Cook and husband David from Mason, and Christine Corey from Brookline, sisters, Edith Corey from Brookline, Helen and Ralph Dwire of South Lyndeborough, sister in law, Anne Corey of Brookline, brother in law Roy Taylor and wife Trudy of Milford, grandchildren, Charles Corey Jr. from Brookline, and Jessica Royea and husband JP from Brookline, great grandson, Gavin Royea and many caring friends and relatives.
In addition to his parents, Erwin is predeceased by his brother Clarence Corey and his sister, Bernice Towne.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours. A mass will be held at Brookline Community Church 2 Main Street, Brookline, NH on Monday October 14 at 11 am. Inurnment will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery on South Main Street in Brookline. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests all donations be sent to Brookline Fire Department PO Box 174 Brookline, NH 03033.
