Eugene L. Aube

Eugene “Gene” L. Aube, 82, of Marlborough, NH died December 30, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, after a brief illness and heart failure. Gene was born February 24, 1925 in Torrington, CT son to the late Eugene and Oliveen (LeClaire) Aube. Gene was a graduate of the Oliver Wolcott Technical School. Later he joined the United States Navy and was a Petti Officer during WWII. He was self employed for 4 years in construction, building homes, and spent 30 years working for the United States Post Office delivering the mail. Gene also worked for Peerless Insurance Company as a shuttle driver for 10 years. He was an active member of the VFW and during his life enjoyed football, baseball, fishing, hunting, computers, creating seasonal cards, and took pride in supporting his son and daughters interests. Family members include; his loving wife, of 60 years, Nancy Claire “Russo” Aube; his daughter Mary Ann Onsurez of Jacksonville, FL; his son Bruce C. Aube of Marlborough, NH; his two granddaughters Jennifer (Jacobs) Svela of Jacksonville, FL, Kristen Aube of Boston, MA; his grandson Adam Jacobs of Manchester, NH and his great-grandson Ryan Svela of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his three sisters Irene Maracino, Doris Neal, and Rita Nadeau all of Torrington, CT. There will be a graveside service held at the Florida national Veterans Cemetery in the spring of 2008. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association P.O.
