Eugene Bertrand Carette

November 15, 1937 – May 19, 2022

Eugene Bertrand Carette, 84, passed away at his home in Dorchester, New Hampshire on May 19, 2022. Born in Goffstown to Alma and Eugene Carette on November 15, 1937, he was one of four children. Eugene was a widower to the love of his life, Pauline Frances Carette, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Eugene was raised in Manchester where he and Pauline began to raise their four children. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, Eugene’s family meant everything to him. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors. Tirelessly productive, crafty and skilled, Eugene always had a home project in the works. He smiled with his whole face, had a jovial nature, and would give you the shirt off his back if it was his last one. Eugene will be sorely missed.

Eugene is survived by his four children: son, Raymond Carette, and daughters Patricia Butterworth, Cynthia Collyns, and Theresa Wiegelman; his brother, Lucien Carette, and sister Pauline St. Onge; five grandchildren, Sean Butterworth, Ashley Carette, Jaimie Butterworth, Micheal Collyns and Robin Collyns; and five great grandchildren, Kaleb, Bailey, Rosalina, Evelyn and Lilliana.

A celebration of Eugene’s life will be announced at a later date. In his memory, donations may be made to Ammonoosuc Community Health Services in Littleton, NH (ammonoosuc.org/about/donate ). His family is grateful for the quality, affordable healthcare ACHS offers low-income families, seniors and veterans.
