Evelene S. Peckham

Evelene (Stevens) Peckham, 74, of Middleton, NH passed away at the Rochester Manor Friday, April 4, 2008 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born August 02, 1933 in her parents home to the late Sydney Stevens and Marion ( Kinney ) Steven. She attended local schools graduating from Spaulding High School in 1951.She worked for twenty seven years at General Electric in Somersworth, NH retiring in 1999. She held various positions among them, main line inspector and set up and operation of high speed punch presses. She was a unique woman with a love of farming. She was equally comfortable driving a logging skidder or helping to deliver a calf. She had a dry sense of humor which we will miss. She worked hard and her life was to short. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Walter and Linda Peckham of Middleton, three granddaughters; Holly Grant and husband Lewis of Middleton, Kelly Peckham of Concord, and Annie Stevens and husband James of Dover, one great granddaughter Ashley Vachon of Middleton, her mother Marion Stevens of Middleton, her sister Jane Stevens of Sandown, four nephews, a niece and an aunt and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Sydney and her brother Albert. There will be no public calling hours or services at her request. Burial will take place at a later date at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Farmington, NH. Arrangements have been handled by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester, NH
