Evelyn Corraine Austin, born February 27, 1944, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.

Evelyn was the oldest of seven children. She is predeceased by her parents, Gertrude “Gert” L. Duhamel, and Charles E. Duhamel, and by five of her siblings: Annette S. Duhamel, Lucille Simoneau, Yvette Mann, Irene C. Galante, and Roger J. Duhamel. She is also predeceased by her brother-in-law, David Simoneau, and by Annette’s longtime partner, Tom Jamison.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond A. Duhamel, and his wife Susan Duhamel; her sister-in-law Cynthia Duhamel; and her brothers-in-law Ricky Galante and Robert Mann.

Evelyn was a devoted mother to four children from two marriages: Daniel Guy Walker and his wife Brenda Walker, Elaine Marie St. Germain and her husband David St. Germain, Don Ray Austin, and Aaron Alexander Austin and his wife Margaret A. Austin.

She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jasmine, Evelyn, Ben, Noah, Ryan, Sam, and Jocelyn, and a loving great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Kyler, Ryden, Tripp, Aubree, and Holly.

Evelyn loved the New England Patriots and had been eagerly looking forward to the Super Bowl on February 8, 2026. She was an avid game show watcher and enjoyed playing handheld games on her tablet and phone. She loved scratch tickets and was often lucky with them. With a true green thumb, she found joy and peace in caring for her plants. She also lovingly adopted her “grand-dog,” Starr St. Germain, a chocolate Labrador, for her daughter’s family—another reflection of her generous and caring spirit.

Evelyn also leaves behind several nieces and nephews: Janet, Robert, Roger, Michael, Sherry, Rhonda, David, and Amy. She was predeceased by her nephew, Charlie Simoneau.

Evelyn will be remembered for her deep love of family, her quiet strength, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In accordance with Evelyn’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life may be planned at a later date. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Nasua. To view Evelyn's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.
