Evelyn B Jodoin

 Evelyn Jodoin of Laconia entered eternal life on her own terms on 1/27. Evelyn was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region and communicant of St Joseph Church in Laconia and over the past few years a member of the Faith Alive Christian Fellowship Church in Laconia. Many people may have known her as “Beth” as she preferred this over Evelyn. She worked for many years at the Salvation Army and the Laconia Hospital over the years folding laundry until her retirement. Evelyn was a champion cribbage player often times making sure points were added correctly. Evelyn was an avid fan of the game show network on television, challenging herself daily with shouting out the answers during the shows. She was always willing to offer her wisdom and candid expressions to those around her so you always knew where you stood with her. She was the “queen” of one-line jokes and enjoyed sharing a light meal and chats with anyone who came to visit. (Often times preparing little goodies for their visits.) Evelyn enjoyed shopping and eating at various establishments and was clear as to which ones were her favorites. For those that knew Evelyn, she was not afraid to tell you her thoughts and feelings, at times adding some colorful flair when speaking. She enjoyed living out her years in Laconia with her longtime roommate Vickie Milliken who she was able to share time with other ladies, open her heart to new experiences and rekindle her family relationships. Vickie encouraged Evelyn to be herself, which was never a problem for the two of them. 

 Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Charles Jodoin. Survivors include her sons Christopher and Roland Riel along with step children from her marriage to Charles and nieces and nephews.

 There will be no calling hours a celebration life will be held at Lakeside Country Cooking in Gilford, (One of Beth’s favorite restaurants.) on February 18th at 11am.
