Listen to Obituary

Evelyn Ruth (Ackerman Molkentine) Scheehl, our family’s “valentine baby,” died peacefully at her Nashua, NH home after a period of declining health on December 5, 2025. She was born in Derry, NH on February 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Tilton) Ackerman.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She treasured shopping expeditions and dining out; we’re thrilled she experienced so much joy at T-Bones, T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s! Time spent at the latter two certainly made her an enviable fashionista!…plus her pig collection was surely unsurpassed!

Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Molkentine; by her infant son, Wayne Thomas Molkentine; and by her second husband, Robert Scheehl.

Mom will be missed by her three children and Bob’s three children – all of whom she dearly loved: Michael Molkentine and his wife Diane of Brookline, NH; Laurie Nehm and her husband David of Marenisco, MI; John Molkentine and his wife Tina of Nashua, NH; Robert Scheehl and his wife Bonnie; Michael Scheehl and his wife Jill; and Kathy Scheehl.

She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Ami Molkentine, Jami Wyman, Chelsea Wuornos (Adam Wuornos), Colton Nehm (Alexandria Brousil), Dakota Molkentine (Tyler Kimball) and Dustin Molkentine; and seven adored great-grandchildren: Lily, Skylar and Alexandra Wuornos, Solomon and Freya Nehm, Aliza Lormeus and Colby Jay Kimball.

Evelyn is also survived by her brother-in-law Robert Molkentine and his former wife, Annette, of Wisconsin; her sister-in-law Judith Molkentine, widow of William Molkentine, of Deerfield, NH; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (including those at Gatewood Manor, who enriched her final years).

As was her wish, cremation was prearranged. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. All of us, including our mom, were deeply grateful for the wonderful care provided by Home, Health and Hospice during her final days. In recognition of our family's long history of military service, including Mom’s two late husbands, any desired memorial contributions to American Legion Post #48 / 2 Fulton Street / Hudson, NH 03051 would be greatly appreciated. Cremation Society of NH, Manchester office, is assisting the family with arrangements.
