Evelyn Jean Smith

FRANKLIN – Evelyn Jean (Duff) Smith, 72, died Friday at her son's home in New London. She was surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Franklin, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Hutchinson) Duff. She lived in Franklin all of her life. She held several part time jobs, but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker who delighted in cooking and gardening. Survivors include two sons, Scott Smith of Northfield, and Danny Smith of New London; one sister, Marlene Duff Bailey of Loudon; two brothers, Robert Duff of Rochester and Lawrence Duff of Chandler, AZ.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Harold Smith, her son, David Smith, her sisters, Norma Duff and Frances Duff and her brother, Donald Duff died previously. A private ceremony will be held at the convenience of the family. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is assisting with arrangements.
