Everett “Ted” W. Johnston, 88, of Thornton, NH, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 26, 2026. He was born on August 3, 1938, in Plymouth, NH, to Alyuna (Palmer) and Walter P. Johnston.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (Day) Johnston; his sons, Mark, Alan (Laura), Duane (Stephanie), and Dean (Sandra); his grandchildren, Marty (Kellie), Brian (Tyler), Kevin (Bethany), Heather (Drew), Shane, Valerie, and Abby (Chaeston); and his great-grandsons, Jack and Andrew. He is also survived by his brother, Leigh (Terri), and many nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Amanda Grace, and his parents.

Ted proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he met his wife, Betty. Following his military service, they returned to his native New Hampshire and settled in Campton, where they began raising their family. Ted was an active member of the Boy Scouts for many years, serving as a Scoutmaster.

He enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time assisting his sons with their excavation businesses. Later in life, Ted found great enjoyment in his woodshop, where he turned pens on his lathe, many of which he happily gifted to family and friends. Above all, Ted was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
