Farida Fawaz, 85, of 10 Summer St., Penacook, died Jan. 12 at Pleasant View Center in Concord after a brief illness. Born on Sept. 20, 1919, in Manchester, she was the daughter of Peter and Zahia Fawaz. She graduated from Central High School in Manchester. During World War II, Ms. Fawaz worked as a secretary at the White House in Washington, D.C. After the war, she moved to Concord and went to work at her brother's dental practice, where she worked until she retired in 1989. She was a devout church attender and long-time member of the Sisters of Rebekah in Concord. Ms. Fawaz is survived by her brother, Dr. George Fawaz, of Penacook, her sister, Virginia Nazarian of Chandler, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
