Fedora “Dora” Ann Sullivan, 84, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, surrounded by her family in the home she loved and lived in for nearly 60 years.

Born on December 15, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dora was the daughter of Samuel Mento and Fedora (Corello) Mento. She was raised in Boston and attended schools in the area.

On June 1, 1963, Dora married the love of her life, William F. Sullivan, in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Their story began when they caught each other’s eye on an elevator while working in the same office building on Milk Street in Boston—a chance encounter that led to more than 63 years of marriage and a lifetime together.

Dora held a variety of jobs throughout her life, including more than 15 years with Teradyne in Nashua. But the role she treasured most was raising her three children and, later, being Grammy to her five grandchildren.

Family was at the heart of Dora’s life. Her favorite times were spent with family and friends in and around their pool, where countless treasured memories were made. Their home was fondly referred to as the “Kool-Aid House”—a favorite gathering place that was often overflowing with family, friends and fun. Being Grammy brought Dora some of her greatest joy, and she was always ready for an adventure—with seemingly endless patience and a positive attitude.

Dora also knew how to have fun. She loved to travel and never said no to a new destination. She loved playing cards and games and was always up for a friendly wager. Football squares, slot machines and Bingo were some of her favorites. She won so often that she was considered a walking good luck charm. Dora, however, was always quick to correct us: it wasn’t luck, it was skill.

Dora had a remarkable way of making people feel special. Her warmth and genuine interest in others extended well beyond family and close friends. Neighbors, store clerks, restaurant servers and people she encountered in the course of an ordinary day could quickly find themselves in conversation with Dora as though they were old friends. She loved people, and people loved her.

Her caring nature, generous heart, sense of humor and love of family will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Dora was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Fedora Mento, and her siblings, Kay, Irene, Tony and Mary.

She is survived by her husband, William F. Sullivan; their children, William Sullivan Jr. and his partner, Karen, of Nashua; Christopher Sullivan and his wife, Deanna, of Francestown; and Fedora Grosso and her husband, David, of New Boston; her beloved grandchildren, Drew (Hannah), Tyler (Abigail), Dillon (Olivia), Parker and Miles (Delaney); her sister-in-law, Betti Jane Shelley; her brother-in-law, Michael Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her forever and cherish the many wonderful times they shared together.

A celebration of Dora’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations made in Dora’s memory to Home Health & Hospice Care, in appreciation of the compassionate care and support provided to Dora and her family.
