Forrest Smith

December 25, 2021

A day the Family of Forrest Smith will always remember the fact that the world lost a man with so much integrity, if he gave his word, you could count on that. A handshake was safe with him, it was as good as gold. "INTEGRITY" all the way. Smitty was a born teacher always showing us the ropes. It wasn't "I'll do it for you", he would say "come on up and I'll show you how." If you had something broken he would always know how to fix it.

Born August 24, 1934 in North Andover, MA, the only son of the late Erna Rosa Schmeller and the late James Forrest Smith. He attended North Andover school systems and after graduation enlisted in the Army. He owned and ran the family business that his father started, JFS Construction out of North Andover, MA then moved to Danville, NH and married Yvonne Marie Richards and they ran the business together. After retirement, he and Yvonne never stopped. Planting gardens, fixing things around the house, chopping wood for fires and hunting. He was always on the go, puttering around the yard or his tool shed.

Survived by his wife Yvonne Marie Richards Smith (married 30 years) and their toy poodle Hunter of Epson, NH.

He was a WONDERFUL FATHER to: Billie Ann Baker and Bonnie Smith of Methuen MA, Dawna Smith of Londonderry, NH, RaeEllen Rogers and Jaime (Steve) Sinclair of Arizona. Joseph (Joyce), Charles "Chucky" (Mary Ann) Richards, Gail (James) Bonin, Carole (Kevin) Molethar of Florida. A very loved grandfather of 23 and great grandfather of 29 with another on the way. A very close cousin Ronald Kimball of Salem NH and his best friend who was like a son David Shane Beverage of Raymond NH

The Smith family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Center in Concord NH for the excellent care he received there.

A graveside service for Forrest will be held on Wednesday, June 8th at 2pm in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
