Frances M. Lamont

Frances M. Lamont Kittery Point, Maine - Frances Muriel (Maresh) Lamont, 77, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at York Hospital. She was born in Natick, Massachusetts December 9, 1925, the daughter of the late Gladys (Hannon) and Anthony Maresh. She graduated from Natick High School in 1943 and moved to Kittery Point in 1951. She is survived by her son, Scott Lamont, of Grafton, Massachusetts; her daughter, Kim Hollahan, of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina; a niece, Frances Powell of Kittery; two brothers, a sister, and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. A son, Brian Lamont, died in Kittery in 1977. Fran married Donald E. Lamont in 1944. Although they divorced in 1975, they remained close up until her death. Fran was active in the community for many years, volunteering for several organizations including the Kittery Rec. Center meal site, York County Community Action, and the Portsmouth Hospital. She enjoyed line dancing with friends and doing calligraphy. She had a sharp sense of humor and enjoyed sending and receiving ascerbic greeting cards. There are no calling hours. After cremation her ashes will be scattered at Fort Foster, a place she loved. In the spring, friends and family will be invited to reminisce together.
