Frances Leila (Wiggin) Morrill, 100, of Nottingham, NH passed peacefully after a short illness at her home surrounded by her loved ones on September 18, 2023.
Frances was born on July 13, 1923, to Mark and Amber (Harriman) Wiggin in Conway, NH. She was the last remaining child of 15.
Frances grew up on the West side and graduated from elementary school. She then stayed home to help her mother take care of her siblings.
In 1941, Frances met Leonard “Buster” Morrill at Frankson’s Furniture Factory in West Ossipee, NH. They were married on January 22, 1942, and went on to have 8 children. Frances worked as a housekeeper and would ride her bicycle to work at the corn and bean canning factories in Fryeburg, ME. In 1957, they moved to North Conway to raise their family. Frances was a devoted friend and housekeeper of the late Dr. George Kuite and his wife Marion for over 30 years. After her husband’s passing in 1993, Frances moved to Nottingham, NH with her oldest and youngest daughters.
Frances was a member of the Lathani Club of the 2nd Congregational Church of Conway and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Bartlett, NH. She was a volunteer for the West Ossipee Lion’s Club annual children’s Christmas parties. Along with her husband Buster, she was a founding member of the Kennett High School Music Booster Club, where she would chaperone many of the band and chorus annual trips.
Frances liked to play bingo and make Christmas ornaments. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and loved canning. But, out of all those interests, the most important thing to her was her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, 14 siblings, her husband, and granddaughter, Kymberly Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Morrill of Nottingham, NH, Leonard Morrill (Carolyn) of Manchester, NH, Beverly Hanson (Robert) of Lake Placid, FL, John Morrill (Brenda) of Ashland, NH, Gralyn Morrill (Beverly) of Cornish, NH, Tracey Morrill (Elizabeth) of Northumberland, NH, Angela Hueg (John) of West Lebanon, NH, and Joanne Morrill (Miranda) of Nottingham, NH.
Her grandchildren, Leonard, Karl, Donald, John, Kelly, Jennifer, John Jr, Amber, and Kai. Her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Marie, Joshua, Dakota, Dalton, Caitlin, Stephanie, Jason, Quentin, Emmett, Stephen, Isabelle, Lucy, Matthew, Charles, and Luke. God saw her getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around her
And whispered, “Come with me”
