Francie Melissa Tucker

Francie M. Tucker, 96, of Newport and formerly of Grantham died at home on June 10, 2004 after a period of declining health. Mrs. Tucker was born on July 21, 1907 in Sunappe, NH the daughter of the late Burleigh and Melissa A. (Barton) Hastings. She spent many years in Grantham and was considered the oldest living native. She was a proud homemaker and was known at the Best Donut Maker by many. Mrs. Tucker was an avid bowler and a member of the Newport Bowling League. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and loved to fish in Stocker Pond in Grantham. Family members include; one daughter, Eleanor Quimby of Newport; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Tucker who died in 1987. She was also predeceased by her son, Ernest Tucker, three brothers, and two sister, one of which who was her twin. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 19th at 1:00 PM at the Croyden Flat Cemetery on Camel Hump Road in Croyden. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
